Graduate Building Surveyor
Theodore Harrison
I’m working with a well-established, highly regarded building surveying consultancy in Liverpool with a genuinely diverse and growing pipeline of work - particularly strong within the education sector. They're looking to add a driven, client-facing Graduate Building Surveyor to their expanding team.
This is a great opportunity to develop your career surrounded by experienced Chartered colleagues, working across a high-quality mix of design and contract administration instructions spanning new build, refurbishment, extension and elemental renewal projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Getting hands-on with AutoCAD for design and drawing work
- Developing feasibility studies and budget costings
- Preparing scheme designs, specifications of works and tender documentation
- Supporting contract administration from inception through to completion
- Undertaking building surveys, recording condition, identifying and analysing defects, and preparing repair proposals
- Surveying buildings and producing planned preventative maintenance schedules
- Processing planning applications
- Working closely alongside Chartered Building Surveyors to develop your technical and client-facing skills
What they're looking for:
- At least 2 years' experience in a professional consultancy environment
- Working towards MRICS
- A track record of running small projects
- A strong academic record and the ability to pick things up quickly
- An enthusiastic, motivated and reliable approach
- The ability to think independently, show initiative and maintain a can-do attitude
- A genuine passion for building surveying and a team-first attitude
- Experience in the education sector is a strong plus, though not essential
What's in it for you:
- Competitive, negotiable salary (DOE) plus car allowance
- Private healthcare and pension scheme
- Performance-related bonus, plus new business, spot and Christmas bonus schemes (discretionary)
- Life insurance and professional subscriptions paid
- Additional holiday entitlement with long service
- Electric vehicle scheme
- Flexible and remote working options
- Genuine autonomy, responsibility and career progression in a growing, supportive team
