Our client, a leading international chemicals business, is seeking a Graduate Chemical Technician to join its Research & Development team. The Role
As a Graduate Chemical Technician, you will support research, product development and technical service activities through laboratory testing, formulation preparation and data analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing chemical blends, formulations and test samples for internal and external evaluation
Conducting laboratory testing using established procedures and industry standards
Recording, analysing and reporting experimental results
Operating, maintaining and troubleshooting specialist laboratory equipment
Supporting product stability and compatibility studies
Assisting with technical projects from initiation through to completion
Managing laboratory inventory, samples and consumables
Maintaining accurate records in line with quality and ISO requirements
Working safely and promoting best practice laboratory standards
Collaborating with scientists, chemists and technical teams across the organisation
About You
This opportunity would suit a recent Chemistry graduate looking to develop a career within research and development, formulation chemistry or technical services.
Essential Requirements
Degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
Strong practical laboratory skills gained through university studies
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication and report-writing abilities
A proactive and methodical approach to problem solving
Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Desirable
Industrial placement, internship or laboratory work experience
Knowledge of analytical, formulation or materials chemistry
Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and quality systems
Interest in applied chemistry and product development
