Graduate Football Market Maker

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within the sports betting and gaming industry. Based in a lively North London office, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining time in the office with remote working.

We are looking for a numerically minded, detail-oriented individual with a passion for football and an interest in sports betting markets. As a Junior Football Trader, you will support the day-to-day management of football markets, helping to ensure accurate pricing, effective risk management and a strong customer experience.

Working alongside experienced traders, you will develop your understanding of football odds, market movements, betting patterns and trading strategies in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor live and pre-match football betting markets, including odds movements and market activity.
  • Assist with the pricing and management of football markets across a range of competitions.
  • Monitor betting activity, customer behaviour and market exposure to identify potential risks.
  • Support the management of liabilities and contribute to risk management and trading decisions.
  • Analyse football statistics, team news, player information and other relevant data to inform market pricing.
  • React to in-play events and changing market conditions, helping ensure odds remain accurate and competitive.
  • Work closely with the wider trading team to review market performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the development and refinement of trading processes, tools and internal systems.
  • Complete routine administrative and operational tasks to maintain the smooth running of the trading desk.
  • Participate in shift patterns, including evening and weekend coverage, in line with the football calendar.

About You

  • Must have at least and A in Maths A-level and a degree in a numerate subject from top UK University.
  • A genuine interest in football and a strong understanding of the game.
  • A keen interest in sports betting, odds, statistics and betting markets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy when working with data.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information and make informed decisions.
  • A logical, methodical approach to problem-solving and assessing risk.
  • The ability to remain calm, focused and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude, with the confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • A willingness to learn, develop new skills and take responsibility as your experience grows.

Previous experience in sports trading, betting operations, a trading environment or a data-focused role would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and bonus structure.
  • Hybrid working model, with two days per week working from home.
  • Two weeks of remote working from any location after six months of service.
  • 25 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 days after two years.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Contributory pension plan.
  • Private health insurance.
  • Discounts on gym memberships, travel and cinema tickets.
  • Sabbatical opportunity after 10 years of service.

The Opportunity

This role offers an excellent entry point into sports trading for someone who combines a passion for football with strong analytical instincts and a desire to build a career in the sports betting industry. You will gain hands-on experience in football market management, risk assessment and live trading while learning from an experienced team.
