An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Highways Engineer to join one of London's leading independent transport consultancies, renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering graduate or someone with up to 1-2 years of experience looking to kick-start their career in highways and infrastructure design. You'll be joining a highly collaborative team working on urban highway, public realm and transport infrastructure projects across London and the wider UK.

The Role
As a Graduate Highways Engineer, you'll support the design and delivery of urban highway and public realm schemes while working closely with experienced engineers and project teams.
You'll gain exposure to projects from concept design through to detailed design and construction, developing both your technical and commercial understanding of engineering consultancy.
Responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the design of highways, junction improvements, public realm and transport infrastructure schemes.
Producing and developing technical drawings using AutoCAD, with exposure to Civil 3D where appropriate.
Supporting the preparation of design calculations, reports and technical documentation.
Assisting with S278 highway schemes and development-related infrastructure projects.
Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
Attending project meetings and site visits to develop your practical engineering knowledge.
Supporting senior engineers in delivering high-quality, sustainable designs.
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
A genuine interest in highways, transportation and urban infrastructure design.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and team-working abilities.
Knowledge of AutoCAD or a willingness to develop proficiency.
Understanding of highways engineering principles gained through university studies, placements or industry experience.
Desire to work towards professional accreditation with ICE, CIHT or a similar institution.
Exposure to Civil 3D, drainage design, highways design projects or placement experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
