About the Role

Adecco are recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in Gloucestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate looking to launch their career within a dynamic and technically advanced environment. You'll gain hands-on experience across multiple engineering disciplines, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture while developing a broad understanding of engineering design, production processes and product development.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers and industry specialists, gaining valuable exposure to a wide range of engineering activities while following a structured development programme designed to accelerate professional growth.

This role offers a clear progression path into Senior Engineering and Technical Leadership positions.



Key Responsibilities

During your initial development period, responsibilities will include:



Design & Engineering Support

  • Produce customer, manufacturing and technical drawings.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation.
  • Support design activities through calculations, technical analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with engineering change processes and document control.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).


Technical & Project Support

  • Provide technical support to internal departments including Service, Sales and Operations.
  • Support engineering projects from concept through implementation.
  • Assist in project planning and delivery activities.
  • Participate in engineering reviews and technical discussions.
  • Contribute to product and process improvement initiatives.


Manufacturing & Production Engineering

  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to understand production processes.
  • Support production engineering and planning activities.
  • Assist with quality investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in engineering problem-solving activities.
  • Help identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the business.


Training & Development

What We're Looking For



Essential

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong interest in mechanical engineering and product design.
  • Understanding of engineering principles gained through academic study.
  • Exposure to CAD software and engineering drawing creation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Desirable

  • Experience using CAD software such as Creo or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Industrial placement, internship or relevant work experience.
  • Project work demonstrating engineering design, planning or leadership skills.
