The Role
As a Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing planning applications, providing strategic planning advice, and supporting clients through the planning process from inception to determination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
- Conducting planning policy research and site appraisals
- Producing planning statements and supporting reports
- Liaising with local authorities, consultees, and stakeholders
- Advising clients on planning risks and opportunities
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Supporting business development activities where appropriate
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI status or working towards chartership (preferred)
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or developer environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- The ability to work independently while remaining a proactive team player
- Strong organisational and project management skills
