- Support senior engineers in delivering projects across the rail, transportation, energy, heavy civil engineering, and structural sectors.
- Contribute to the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions, gaining an understanding of the commercial aspects of engineering consultancy.
- Attend site visits and surveys under the guidance of experienced engineers to develop practical knowledge and understand site-specific requirements.
- Develop your understanding and application of relevant design codes and standards, including British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Support project planning, coordination, delivery, and documentation, working closely with senior engineers and project managers.
- Assist with monitoring project progress against agreed timescales and budgets, while maintaining effective communication with the wider project team.
- Follow established quality assurance procedures to ensure engineering work meets the required technical and professional standards.
- Take an active role in training and continuing professional development, building the skills and experience needed to progress towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
About You:
- A degree in civil or Structural Engineering
- A genuine commitment to ongoing professional development and working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally in English.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering design and analysis software, together with familiarity with AutoCAD.
- An understanding of engineering design principles, technical documentation, and the importance of accuracy and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with Autodesk software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and Bentley software such as MicroStation, would be advantageous.
- A positive attitude towards learning, adapting to new challenges, and developing new technical skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a professional, approachable manner.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consultancy environment where priorities may change.
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Full right to work in the UK
