Academics are working in partnership with an outstanding and welcoming primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham to recruit an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated graduate who is considering a career in primary teaching and wants to gain meaningful, hands-on experience before completing a PGCE, School Direct or other Initial Teacher Training programme.   • Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only (September 2026 - July 2027)
  • Salary: £95-£105 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Working alongside experienced class teachers, you will support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping to deliver engaging lessons and ensuring every child reaches their full potential. You'll provide one-to-one support, lead small group interventions and play an active role in promoting children's academic, social and emotional development.

This varied role will also provide experience supporting pupils with SEND, making it ideal for graduates looking to build a broad understanding of primary education.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions in English and Maths.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional help.
  • Assist children with SEND to access the curriculum successfully.
  • Help create an engaging, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
  • Support behaviour management and encourage pupil confidence and independence.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through trips, events and extracurricular activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a degree in any subject.
  • Is passionate about pursuing a career in primary education.
  • Has experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, childcare, youth work or volunteering (desirable but not essential).
  • Is committed to making a positive impact on pupils' learning and development.
