Our client is an established and growing independent planning consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across residential, commercial, rural, and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Graduate Town Planner to join their friendly and experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work alongside experienced Chartered Town Planners, and develop the skills needed to build a successful career in planning.
The Role
As a Graduate Town Planner, you'll support the delivery of planning projects from inception through to determination, working closely with senior planners and clients across a diverse portfolio of developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
- Undertaking planning policy and site research.
- Preparing Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements, and supporting documentation.
- Liaising with local authorities, consultees, and external stakeholders.
- Supporting client meetings and project discussions.
- Monitoring planning applications and providing updates to clients.
- Keeping up to date with changes in planning legislation and policy.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline accredited by the RTPI.
- A genuine enthusiasm for the planning profession.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and organisational abilities.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
