Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum DOE
A great opportunity has arisen for a Grinding Operative to join a precision engineering business in Verwood.
This is a hands-on workshop position, ideal for someone with experience in grinding, machining or general precision engineering who is looking to develop their skills further.
The Role:
- Carrying out honing and surface grinding operations.
- Loading and unloading CNC machines that have already been set up.
- Carrying out deburring and cleaning of components.
- Supporting with cylindrical pre-grinding and bore grinding.
- Working to engineering drawings, specifications and tight tolerances.
- Using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Developing your skills across different machining processes.
- With training, there is the opportunity to progress into CNC operation and eventually machine setting.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ideally, experience with manual grinding, particularly surface or cylindrical grinding.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Comfortable using basic precision measuring equipment.
- Good practical and mechanical understanding.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- CNC experience, particularly Fanuc, would be advantageous.
- Experience with honing would also be beneficial.
