Ground Worker

Main job:
Finish surfaces like concrete, paving, kerbing, and landscaping on construction sites in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
1. Finishing work: Smooth concrete, lay paving to patterns
2. Kerbing: Install kerb stones, edgings
3. Landscaping: Finish grounds, slopes, drainage
4. Tools: Use tammers, cutters, levels
5. Safety: Follow site rules, wear PPE
6. Teamwork: Work with groundworkers, supervisors

Requirements – UK 2026
- Quals: CSCS card (labourer). NVQ in Groundworks a plus
- Experience: 1-2 years groundwork
- Skills: Manual handling, basic tools
- Certs: SMSTS helpful

Typical Day
- AM: Briefing, plan tasks
- Work: Lay, finish, tidy
- PM: Check work, report issues
