Grounds Maintenance

Location: Epping, Essex, with travel across the surrounding area

Salary: £27,700 per annum (with potential to earn up to 15% annual performance bonus)

Full-Time | Permanent

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Gardener to join our growing Grounds Maintenance team, delivering high-quality gardening and landscaping services across Waltham Abbey and the wider Epping area.

This is a hands-on outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys working in green spaces, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is committed to providing excellent service. You'll work as part of a supportive team helping to maintain attractive, safe and well-presented environments for our customers and communities.

• Carry out general grounds maintenance activities, including:
  • Grass cutting
  • Hedge trimming
  • Pruning
  • Weeding
  • Shrub and border maintenance
• Undertake horticultural tasks to maintain landscaped areas to a high standard
• Apply pesticides and herbicides safely and in accordance with relevant regulations (where qualified)
• Operate, maintain and care for gardening machinery, tools and vehicles
• Complete work efficiently and to agreed schedules and quality standards
• Follow all health and safety procedures and safe working practices
• Report maintenance issues, defects and potential hazards
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the team

We are looking for someone who is:

• Committed to delivering excellent standards of work

• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions
• Good understanding of health and safety practices

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or landscaping
• PA1 and PA6 qualifications (or equivalent)
• Experience using:
  • Ride-on mowers
  • Strimmers
  • Hedge cutters
  • Leaf blowers
  • Other grounds maintenance equipment
• Experience operating ride-on machinery such as Ransomes Highway 3 mowers
• Soft landscaping experience including planting and garden improvements
• Basic IT skills, including use of mobile devices and email

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a DBS check.
