The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing contractor seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hardworking individual with a strong background in grounds maintenance or landscaping who is looking to develop their skills and progress within an established business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across a variety of commercial, industrial and public sector environments, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

This is a mobile position requiring travel to various sites across London, the South East and Home Counties.
Key Responsibilities

Carrying out general grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, strimming, edging and hedge trimming.

Undertaking weed control and vegetation management.

Maintaining trees, shrubs and landscaped areas.

Completing litter picking, site clearance and general external maintenance.

Maintaining pathways, car parks and communal outdoor areas.

Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters and leaf blowers.

Supporting seasonal maintenance activities, including gritting, leaf clearance and landscaping works.

Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Maintaining accurate work records and reporting any site issues or maintenance requirements.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and management to ensure the successful delivery of maintenance programmes.

Supporting the coordination of daily activities and taking on additional responsibilities as experience develops.

Maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service across all sites.
Essential Requirements

Proven experience working in grounds maintenance, landscaping or a similar outdoor maintenance environment.

Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters and leaf blowers.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Excellent timekeeping, reliability and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Strong communication skills and a professional approach.

Willingness to travel regularly to sites across London, the South East and Home Counties.

A proactive attitude and genuine ambition to develop professionally.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
-
PA1/PA6 Pesticide Application Certification.

Chainsaw certification (NPTC).

Previous experience working on MOD, commercial or public sector sites.

Trailer towing entitlement.

First Aid qualification.

Experience organising daily workloads or coordinating site activities.

Previous experience taking on additional responsibilities within a grounds maintenance team.
