Grounds Maintenance Team Leader/Soft Landscaper in London

Location: West and North West London, with occasional work in North London

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Grounds Maintenance Team Leader / Soft Landscaper to join a growing business and play a key role in developing and expanding our grounds maintenance division.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong grounds maintenance experience, takes pride in their work, and is ready to take on a leadership role. We are looking for someone who can bring confidence, initiative and fresh ideas to a business, helping to build a stronger team and grow the maintenance services.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility, with the ability to lead by example and support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day grounds maintenance operations, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
• Take a hands-on approach to grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, strimming and general site upkeep.
• Help develop and grow the company's grounds maintenance division by identifying opportunities to improve services and efficiency.
• Lead by example, demonstrating excellent standards of workmanship, professionalism and reliability.
• Take initiative and work independently, using your experience to solve problems and make decisions on site.
• Support and coordinate team members, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
• Assist with soft landscaping projects when required, including planting, turfing, bed preparation and general landscaping duties.
• Help maintain strong relationships with clients through good communication and consistently high-quality work.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has substantial experience in grounds maintenance, with a strong practical understanding of the industry.
• Has previous team leadership experience, or the confidence and ability to step up into a leadership position.
• Demonstrates initiative, ambition and a genuine desire to help grow a business.
• Is confident working independently, managing responsibilities and making decisions.
• Has some experience in soft landscaping and is happy to get involved in landscaping work when needed.
• Takes pride in delivering high standards and has a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Is reliable, organised and comfortable working across different sites.
• Holds a full, valid UK driving licence and is happy to travel between sites across West and North West London, with occasional work in North London.

This role would suit an experienced grounds maintenance professional who is ready for the next step in their career. You may already be a Team Leader or Supervisor, or you may be an experienced grounds maintenance operative with the confidence, initiative and leadership qualities to progress.
