Groundworker / Confined Space Operative in Merstham, Surrey

Monday Start - Ground Worker / Confined Spaces Op

The operative will undertake drainage and manhole works, including working within confined spaces, making good an internal pipe connection within a deep manhole, and installing an orifice plate within a shallow manhole.

• Enter and work within a 6 m deep manhole under an approved confined-space entry system.
• Carry out works to make good an internal new pipe connection within the chamber, approximately 3 m below ground level / at -3 m invert level.
• Enter a shallow manhole of less than 2 m depth, where required, to install an orifice plate.
• Undertake general drainage and groundworks associated with the manhole works.
• Assist with preparation, positioning and installation of pipework, fittings and associated components.
• Use hand tools and appropriate equipment safely and correctly.
