Groundworker

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Groundworker with Forward Tipping Dumper Driver to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forward tipping dumpers efficiently and safely on-site, ensuring smooth material transportation across various project locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forward tipping dumpers to transport materials such as gravel, soil, and debris around construction sites.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials, adhering to site safety protocols at all times.
• Conduct routine inspections of the dumper to identify any mechanical issues or faults and report them promptly.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including checking fluid levels and tyre pressures.
• Collaborate with other team members, including excavator operators and ground workers, to coordinate material movement efficiently.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations and materials moved.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly operating dumpers or similar machinery.
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on the dumper.
• Experience operating excavators is desirable but not essential.
• Valid driving licence suitable for operating construction machinery (e.g., Category B or equivalent).
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned tasks.
