Experienced Groundworker / Excavator Driver – CPCS/NPORS – Immediate Start

Yard: Radlett, Hertfordshire
Work: Mainly London and surrounding areas

We are looking for an experienced Groundworker / Excavator Driver to join our team for an immediate start.This position requires someone who has experience in groundworking and as an excavator operator. Our yard is based in Radlett, Hertfordshire, and working days will generally start from the yard before travelling to site.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid CPCS or NPORS Excavator ticket – ESSENTIAL
  • Full UK Driving Licence – ESSENTIAL
  • Proven experience operating excavators from 1.8T to 8T
  • Groundworks experience
  • Confident working around and exposing existing underground utilities
  • Experience with hand digging and trial pits
  • Experience with excavation support/shoring
  • Able to use breakers and general groundworking equipment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team

The Role

This is a hands-on position combining excavator operation with groundworks. You will not be operating a digger all day on every project and must be willing and experienced enough to undertake groundworks when required.

Typical works include:

  • Operating 1.8T–8T excavators
  • Trial pit excavation
  • Breaking concrete and hardstanding
  • Utility exposure
  • Hand excavation around services
  • Excavation support and shoring
  • Concrete coring and breaking
  • Reinstatement and general groundworks
  • Site investigation enabling works

Most work is based in and around London. There will also occasionally be night shifts and work away from home, depending on project requirements. Accommodation will be arranged where applicable.

PLEASE NOTE

Do not apply unless you hold a valid CPCS/NPORS excavator ticket AND a full UK driving licence. We are specifically looking for someone with genuine excavator and groundworks experience, not solely banksman or labouring experience.
