Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced, time-served Deep Drainage Groundworker to join our active civil engineering teams across Middlesbrough. We are partnering with leading main contractors and heavy civils specialists who require skilled operatives capable of managing complex, deep-trench drainage installations safely and efficiently.

If you are a Groundworker who thrives in a fast-paced civils environment and can move seamlessly from running pipe lasers to installing manholes and working inside heavy shoring systems, we have immediate starts and ongoing runs of work available now.

The Role

• Full Drainage Scope: Executing heavy infrastructure drainage, laying large-bore concrete, clay, and plastic pipe runs to exact invert levels.

• Excavation & Shoring: Working safely within trench boxes, drag boxes, sheeted excavations, and complex shoring setups.

• Chamber Construction: Assembling pre-cast concrete manholes, catchpits, and setting covers accurately to finished site levels.

• Precision Leveling: Setting up and operating pipe lasers and optical levels to maintain exact falls, gradients, and pipe alignments.

• Safety & Productivity: Driving site progress while strictly adhering to excavation RAMS and maintaining a safe working trench environment at depth.

Requirements

• CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Green CSCS card (Skilled Groundworker) is mandatory.

• Mandatory PPE: Must have full Orange Hi-Vis (jacket/vest and trousers), Safety Glasses, Hard Hat, and Steel Toe Cap Boots.

• Experience: Proven, hands-on track record in deep drainage, heavy civils, and deep excavations.

• Tools & Kit: Standard groundworker hand tools and spirit levels.

• Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual, and fully capable of working as part of a deep drainage gang to hit program deadlines.

• Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
