Groundworker in York, City of York

Straight-Line Group are currently looking for Groundworkers to start on a project in York, commencing Monday 28th September.

This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, hardworking operatives to secure a minimum of 8 weeks' work, with the potential for the project to continue into spring for the right candidates.

We are particularly interested in candidates with additional plant tickets, as one operative will ideally hold a Telehandler ticket. A Dumper ticket (up to 10T) would also be highly advantageous for the second operative.

The Role:

The initial works will involve a variety of groundworks and general site duties, including:

• Installation of approximately 800m of Heras fencing and gates
• Light vegetation clearance
• Removal and storage of handrails
• Supporting haul road construction
• General site keeping
• Assisting with other site activities as required

The Ideal Candidates:

• Previous experience working as a Groundworker 
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in
• Telehandler competency (essential for one position)
• Dumper ticket up to 10T (advantageous)
• Able to work safely and effectively as part of a site team

PPE Requirements:

Candidates must have:

• Orange long-sleeved hi-vis
• Orange or yellow work trousers
• Safety boots
• White hard hat

Gloves, safety glasses and other required PPE will be supplied on site.

• Start Date: Monday 28th September
• Duration: Minimum 8 weeks, with potential to extend into spring
• Pay Rate: £19.00 - £21.00 per hour
