Groundworks Supervisor/foreman in Birmingham, West Midlands

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor / Foreman to join a well-established groundworks contractor on a residential housing development in the Birmingham area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in residential groundworks who can confidently oversee site operations, manage subcontractors and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

The Role

• Supervising day-to-day groundworks operations on a residential housing development.

• Managing site gangs and coordinating subcontractors.

• Overseeing drainage, foundations, roads, sewers and associated infrastructure works.

• Ensuring all works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and programmes.

• Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the site.

• Monitoring productivity and reporting progress to the Site Manager or Contracts Manager.

• Carrying out site inspections and ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards.

• Helping to resolve on-site issues and keeping the project running to programme.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Groundworks Foreman or General Foreman.

• Strong experience within residential groundworks and housing developments.

• Good knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads and sewers.

• Ability to manage site operatives and coordinate daily activities.

• Relevant site qualifications, ideally SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.

• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
