Groundworks Supervisor – Thames Water Project

Location: Guildford, Surrey

Duration: Until October/November 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:30
Paid Hours: 9.5 hours per day

Red Sky Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Groundworks Supervisor for an ongoing civil engineering project on a Thames Water site in Shamley Green, Guildford.

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor with a strong groundworks and civils background, including previous experience overseeing pipelaying, drainage and underground services.

Duties

• Supervising groundworks, pipelaying and drainage activities
• Overseeing the installation of underground services
• Supervising excavation, trench preparation, bedding and backfilling works
• Coordinating Groundworkers and plant operatives on site
• Supporting and overseeing temporary works activities
• Ensuring RAMS and safe systems of work are followed
• Ensuring works are completed safely and in line with programme requirements
• Monitoring site safety, quality and productivity
• Liaising with site management and other project teams
• Completing relevant site records and reporting

Requirements

• Valid Thames Water Passport – essential
• Valid SSSTS – essential
• Valid TWS (Temporary Works Supervisor) qualification – essential
• Valid CSCS/CPCS card, as applicable
• Strong previous experience supervising groundworks and civil engineering projects
• Good pipelaying and drainage experience
• Previous experience managing groundworks teams
• Good understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work
• Able to provide references demonstrating relevant supervisory experience
