Group International Tax Manager
Oxford | Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site
Are you an International Tax specialist who enjoys being an adviser to the business, not simply managing tax compliance?
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a highly visible Group International Tax Manager role within a successful and growing international organisation, working across a genuinely global footprint and advising senior stakeholders on complex international tax matters.
Reporting directly to, and working closely with, the Head of Tax, you will support the Group's international tax agenda including compliance review & oversight, tax authority scrutiny & dispute resolution, financial reporting processes and wider business projects. You will provide advice on new international routes to market, acquisitions and the integration of acquired businesses.
This role involves interaction with the group’s international offices, business managers, functional teams and other finance and legal colleagues. Due to the growth of the group, the tasks and duties of this role may also evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.
This role needs someone who can combine deep international tax expertise with genuine business partnering ability. You will be comfortable getting into the technical detail, but equally confident translating complex tax issues into clear, commercially relevant advice and becoming a trusted, proactive adviser to the wider business.
The role
- Provide international tax planning and advisory support, including entry into new territories, cross-border structures, cash repatriation, double tax treaty applications and ongoing BAPA & MAP applications.
- Act in an advisory capacity for indirect taxes and employment taxes internationally. Liaise with external advisers as required.
- Advise overseas businesses and finance teams on day-to-day international tax issues
- Review transfer pricing arrangements and advise on new related-party transactions
- Support international tax audits, queries and investigations
- Undertake initial research into the tax landscape in new territories and any commercial risks, to optimise outcomes for the business, seeking external advice as needed.
- Support M&A activity, including due diligence, structuring and post-deal integration
- Provide oversight of international tax compliance and reporting
- Monitor international tax risks and legislative developments
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Legal, Treasury, operational teams and external advisers
About you
- You will be ACA, ACCA, CTA or ADIT qualified, or qualified by experience, with 4+ years' PQE and substantial international tax experience.
- You could already be working in-house within a multinational organisation or be an accomplished Big 4 or mid-tier International Tax professional looking to make your first move into industry.
- Experience with both mature and developing jurisdictions
- Experience of M&A
- Knowledge of international tax laws, both direct and indirect taxes
- Experience of international transfer pricing requirements
Crucially, we are looking for depth of international tax advisory experience, rather than predominantly UK tax exposure.
Just as importantly, you will be a confident communicator and natural business partner: proactive, commercially minded and able to build credibility with senior non-tax stakeholders.
Salary: Competitive
Yes, I know. Nobody wants to see "competitive" on a job advert! Unfortunately, the salary is confidential at this stage as a matter of company policy. But if the role sounds like it could be right for you, apply and let's talk. I am very happy for salary to be the first thing we discuss.
If you are looking for a genuinely international tax role where your expertise will influence commercial decisions across a global business, I would love to hear from you.
