Group Management Accountant

Ascent Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, international business in Manchester as they look to appoint a Group Management Accountant to join their finance team.

Reporting to a fantastic Financial Controller and working under them as their number 2, you’ll take ownership of key accounting and month-end processes across a complex, multi-entity and multi-currency international group.

The role will involve:

• Taking ownership of month-end processes, checks and reconciliations across multiple group entities
• Preparing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting accurate and timely management accounting and financial reporting
• Managing day-to-day accounting across international entities
• Overseeing client billing and reconciling associated data
• Reviewing bank reconciliations, cash positions and group payment runs
• Supporting audit queries and maintaining strong financial controls and compliance
• Working with stakeholders across the business, as well as clients and suppliers
• Identifying and driving improvements to finance processes and reporting
• Using Excel, Power BI and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of financial information
• Supporting and guiding the wider finance team and helping keep key deadlines on track

What we’re looking for:

• ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified or part-qualified
• Strong hands-on month-end and management accounting experience
• Experience of multi-entity (ideally)
• Strong Excel skills
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to improve processes rather than simply follow them
• Experience gained within both SME and larger, more structured environments would be particularly useful

The business offers:

• Salary £45,000-£55,000
• Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in the Manchester office
