We're partnering with an innovative engineering company developing advanced automated manufacturing technology. They're looking for a Hardware Engineering Lead to drive the mechanical development of a complex production system as it moves from prototype to scalable manufacture.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems while mentoring a small, talented team.

The Role

You'll lead the mechanical design and continuous improvement of sophisticated automated machinery, working closely with Electrical, Controls, Software and Manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, production-ready equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and development of complex automated machinery.
  • Designing mechanisms, tooling, fixtures and mechanical assemblies.
  • Improving reliability, manufacturability and performance.
  • Managing suppliers and supporting product build, testing and deployment.
  • Mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practice.

About You

You'll have experience designing complex automated equipment and taking products through development into production.

You'll ideally have a background in areas such as:

  • Industrial Automation
  • Robotics
  • Special Purpose Machinery
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Capital Equipment

You'll also bring:

  • Strong mechanical design skills and CAD experience.
  • Experience with automation, robotics or motion systems.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture and product development.
  • Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach within fast-paced engineering environments.
