Haulage Transport Coordinator, Goldthorpe
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit a Haulage Transport Coordinator to join our business in Goldthorpe on a permanent basis.
We’re looking for a proactive logistics, transport for freight professional to join a fast-paced transport operation, where you’ll manage subcontracted haulage operations, source transport capacity, negotiate rates, and oversee shipments from collection to delivery. Essential Duties:
- Develop, maintain and expand a dependable network of high-quality UK haulage subcontractors.
- Secure additional transport capacity at short notice to meet operational demands and customer requirements.
- Coordinate and assign subcontracted haulage work, ensuring efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers while safeguarding job profitability and fostering strong long-term relationships.
- Produce and manage all relevant transport and shipping documentation, including manifests and bills of lading, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Monitor the progress of shipments from collection through to delivery, providing timely updates and identifying potential delays before they arise.
- Ensure all transport operations comply with relevant legislation, industry regulations and health and safety standards.
- Take ownership of operational issues, acting as the main point of contact for resolving delays, damages, losses and customer concerns.
- Proactively oversee live movements, troubleshooting and resolving challenges to maintain smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve service levels, operational efficiency and profit margins.
- Assist with onboarding new business opportunities, including system updates, processing documentation and coordinating collections and deliveries.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider business to ensure all transport requirements are handled professionally, efficiently and to a high standard.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience within haulage, transport, logistics, freight operations or subcontractor management.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, target-focused approach.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, supported by strong knowledge of UK geography.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications and transport management systems.
- Positive, motivated and ambitious, with a willingness to take ownership and exceed expectations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective decisions in a time-sensitive environment.
