Head Chef in Harrogate, North Yorkshire

£17.84 per hour, HG2, 0700-1500 Monday to Friday, Term Time Only, 28 days holiday, free on-site parking

Do you have Head Chef experience within banqueting, contract catering or a similar high-volume catering environment?

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join a large secondary school in the Harrogate area to cover a period of maternity leave.

You will be providing a varied, seasonal and multicultural lunch service for around 1,200 pupils per day using fresh produce by:

• Leading and mentoring your team of kitchen porters, kitchen assistants, servers, bakers and chefs
• Preparing, cooking and serving high-quality food
• Working with the chef team to produce seasonal menus
• Providing training as required
• Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation
• Accurate and effective stock control and ordering
• Liaising with members of the school's management team
• Overseeing the day-to-day catering and cooking operation

As the Head Chef you will have previous managerial experience in a high-volume catering environment and be able to run the kitchen in a positive and professional manner.

This would be an ideal role for someone who has worked as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Executive Chef within conference and banqueting, contract catering, education catering or a similar catering environment and is looking for a Monday to Friday role.
