Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the organisation's financial operations, ensuring effective financial management, governance and compliance across the Trust. You will lead on financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, while maintaining strong financial controls and driving continuous improvements to systems and processes. The role will include overseeing the preparation of accounts in accordance with SORP and FRS standards, managing VAT requirements including partial exemption, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will also play a key role in business planning, financial strategy, performance monitoring and identifying opportunities to maximise funding and income streams. In addition, you will lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performing and customer-focused finance function.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with significant post-qualification experience in a finance leadership position. You will possess strong expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting and business planning, alongside experience of implementing and improving financial systems and controls. A sound understanding of VAT accounting, including partial exemption, and experience preparing accounts under SORP and FRS frameworks will be essential. Previous experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector would be beneficial. You will also be an effective people manager, capable of leading, developing and motivating teams, with excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
