Job Description: Head of Adult Skills Delivery
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Location: Home Based (London or surrounding areas)
About the Role:
Our client is an ambitious, values-led independent training provider committed to transforming lives through education and skills.
They are seeking an experienced and commercially minded operational leader to oversee the successful mobilisation, delivery and growth of publicly funded provision. Based in their London office, the successful candidate will lead the operational delivery of Adult Skills Fund (ASF), Skills Bootcamps and future publicly funded programmes across London and other regions as the organisation continues to expand.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring contracts are successfully mobilised, learner recruitment targets are achieved, delivery teams perform to a high standard, and contractual outcomes are consistently exceeded.
Working closely with Operations, Quality, Compliance, Business Development and Employer Engagement teams, the Head of Adult Skills Delivery will ensure learners receive an exceptional experience whilst maintaining full compliance with funding rules and contractual requirements.
Experience:
- Significant senior leadership experience in publicly funded education, skills or employability.
- Proven leadership using data, MI and performance metrics to improve outcomes.
- Extensive experience managing Adult Skills Fund (ASF), Skills Bootcamps and government-funded programmes.
- Successful track record of mobilising new contracts and launching provision.
- Experience leading multi-site operational teams.
- Consistent delivery of contractual KPIs, funding targets and performance outcomes.
- Strong experience building employer, community and stakeholder partnerships.
- Effective management of operational budgets, resources and workforce planning.
- Strong analytical, governance and performance management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ASF, Skills Bootcamp funding rules and FE quality frameworks.
- Sound understanding of IAG, safeguarding, Prevent, EDI and data protection requirements.
- Lead operational delivery of funded programmes in line with organisational strategy.
- Develop delivery strategies that meet contractual, funding and organisational objectives.
- Lead mobilisation of new contracts, ensuring operational readiness across all functions.
- Contribute operational expertise to funding bids and growth opportunities.
- Drive operational efficiency, scalability and continuous service improvement.
- Monitor performance through robust MI, forecasting and data analysis.
- Produce performance reports, recovery plans and funding forecasts where required.
- Ensure delivery capacity aligns with learner recruitment and contract requirements.
- Develop learner recruitment strategies and effective referral partnerships.
- Embed high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) throughout the learner journey.
- Build partnerships with employers, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, NHS and community organisations.
- Lead, coach and develop managers, tutors and learner engagement teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple contracts and locations.
- Deliver an outstanding learner experience from recruitment through to progression.
- Strengthen employer engagement to support employment, apprenticeships and further learning outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with funding rules, quality standards, audits and regulatory requirements.
- Use operational data to monitor recruitment, attendance, achievement, progression and learner satisfaction.
- Provide inspiring senior leadership, contribute to organisational strategy and support growth into new funding streams and regions.
