Hyperion Partners are working with a forward-thinking Housing Association seeking an experienced Head of Asset Management to lead the strategic direction, performance, and long-term sustainability of its housing asset portfolio.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the organisation’s homes are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and deliver value for money, while driving forward a long-term asset investment and sustainability strategy.
The Role
As Head of Asset Management, you will take full responsibility for shaping and delivering the organisation’s asset strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, organisational priorities, and resident needs.
You will lead on all aspects of asset management, including capital investment planning, stock condition, compliance, planned maintenance, and lifecycle asset planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and delivery of the organisation’s asset management strategy
- Overseeing stock condition data, asset intelligence, and long-term investment planning
- Driving compliance across building safety, statutory obligations, and regulatory standards
- Managing planned works programmes, including major repairs and capital investment
- Ensuring effective lifecycle planning and value for money across the asset base
- Working closely with repairs, compliance, and housing teams to ensure integrated service delivery
- Leading procurement and contract management of key asset-related service providers
- Managing and developing a high-performing asset management team
- Reporting to Executive Leadership and Board on asset performance, risk, and investment strategy
- Supporting net zero, sustainability, and decarbonisation strategies where applicable
- About You
We are seeking an experienced asset management professional with a strong background in social housing or a regulated housing environment.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience at senior level within Asset Management in housing or related sectors
- Strong technical knowledge of building safety, compliance, and housing legislation
- Experience delivering long-term asset investment strategies and planned works programmes
- Strong understanding of stock condition surveys, data-led asset intelligence, and lifecycle planning
- Experience managing budgets, contractors, and large-scale capital programmes
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational level
- Relevant professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent desirable)
