Sellick Partnership are supporting an NHS organisation in the East Midlands with the appointment of an experienced Interim Head of Elective Access on a 6-month basis.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, this senior leadership role will provide strategic and operational oversight of elective access performance, ensuring delivery against national standards including RTT, diagnostics, cancer pathways, elective waiting lists and cancelled operations.
Head of Elective Care Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Trust-wide elective access agenda, driving performance improvement and recovery plans.
- Oversee PTL management, validation processes and performance reporting.
- Develop and implement robust monitoring, escalation and governance frameworks.
- Support divisions to achieve national waiting time standards and elective recovery trajectories.
- Work closely with operational, clinical and corporate teams to deliver sustainable service improvements.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Represent the organisation at system-level meetings with partners and stakeholders.
The Head of Elective Care will be an experienced NHS operational leader with:
- Significant senior management experience within an acute NHS provider.
- A strong track record of delivering elective performance improvement.
- Extensive knowledge of RTT, cancer and diagnostic access standards.
- Experience leading large-scale change programmes and service transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and leadership skills.
