Description
- Lead the engineering and NPI teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Develop and implement strategies for new product development and process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering objectives with business goals.
- Oversee the design, testing, and production phases of new products.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations across all engineering activities.
- Monitor and manage budgets related to engineering and NPI projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all engineering processes
- Own the product development and design strategy
- Hold senior accountability for the end-to-end NPI
- Hold overall accountability for delivery of the Design project portfolio
- Own and manage the Design & R&D department budget (capex and opex), including investment cases for facilities, tools, systems and headcount, delivering value for money.
- Ensure the department operates to the company's H&S standards at all times and hold senior accountability for a safe working environment and culture across the Design and R&D / Test facilities.
- Partner at a senior level with Commercial, Purchasing, Operations / Manufacturing and Quality to align the product pipeline, resolve escalations and ensure a smooth design-to-production transition.
Profile
A successful Head of NPI & Engineering should have:
- A strong background in engineering, particularly within the manufacturing sector.
- You will have a proven track record as and engineering or engineering director within the manufacturing sector
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects.
- Knowledge of new product development processes and methodologies.
- Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A qualified mechanical engineer or related field
- A leader / senior manager / director in mechanical engineering environment
Job Offer
£85,000 to £95,000 plus pacakge
