Salary: £51,357 - £56,730 per annum (actual)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Head of Estates & Facilities to join a successful and growing multi-site education organisation.
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will lead the strategic management of the estate, ensuring all buildings and facilities are safe, compliant, well-maintained and support outstanding learning environments. You will oversee estates, facilities, health and safety, statutory compliance, sustainability initiatives and capital projects across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the organisation's estates and facilities strategy.
- Lead on health and safety, risk management and statutory compliance.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
- Oversee capital projects from planning through to completion.
- Manage facilities contracts and external contractors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene and building compliance.
- Prepare and manage estates budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Develop sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programmes.
- Provide professional advice and reports to senior leaders.
Essential Criteria
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in estates, facilities or property management, preferably within a multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and statutory building compliance.
- Experience managing contractors, maintenance programmes and capital projects.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Experience managing budgets and achieving value for money.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estates management systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites where required.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within the education or public sector.
- Relevant professional qualification in Estates, Facilities Management, Building Services or a related discipline.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IWFM, RICS, CIOB, IOSH or NEBOSH).
- Experience leading sustainability or carbon reduction initiatives.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
