Air Personnel are delighted to support their client for the role of Head of FBO Aviation Security based at Glasgow.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of FBO Secruity to take ownership of aviation security operations across our Fixed Base Operation (FBO) sites in Glasgow and Jersey. This is a pivotal role responsible for the operational delivery, training, compliance, and strategic development of our aviation security (AVSEC) function.

You will ensure full compliance with the UK National Aviation Security Programme (NASP), oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of our Aviation Security Programme, and act as the primary point of contact for AVSEC matters with key regulatory and operational stakeholders including the CAA, Ports of Jersey, and AGS Ltd.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a growing security programme and influence best practice, training, and quality assurance across our network, while contributing to  Aviation’s high standards in service delivery and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for managing and coordinating Aviation FBO AVSEC operational activities, maintaining compliance with the UK NASP

· Providing AVSEC certified training across the network (Glasgow and Jersey) delivering the relevant modules for GSO and GSS certification

· Ensuring adherence to existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) as contained in the  Aviation Security Program (ASP) and make amendments to these SOPs as required due to operational / regulatory changes

· Ensuring compliance with the UK NASP through robust quality assurance practices currently in place as well as performing audits of activities as they relate to the relevant chapters of the NASP

· Owning the relationship and stakeholder engagement (as it relates to AVSEC) with the CAA, Ports of Jersey and AGS Ltd

Principal Accountabilities:

· To ensure all AVSEC activities, procedures and policies are carried out in accordance with the latest CAA regulations and ensure compliance

· Maintenance of the Aviation Airport Security Program (ASP) and ensure officers adhere to SOP’s, appearance standards and expected behaviours

· Advise and guide the team to maximise co-operation leading to enhanced efficiency and effectiveness of the operation

· Lead and work together with other departments to ensure our customers receive a high standard of service

· Maintain robust systems to ensure;

All paperwork and administrative duties are completed and audited in a timely manner and relevant information is forwarded where appropriate

Compliance with all CAA, and HSE procedures, keeping fully updated with changes to procedures or new procedures

Consistence of operational performance, by reviewing, revising, implementing practices and liaising with FBO staff

Oversight and assurance program to be maintained

Ongoing compliance and competence of FBO staff (as they relate to security)

 Amendments Standard Operating Procedure for Security as required

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

Essential:

· Experience in working within a regulated aviation security environment and a managerial level providing tactical and operational support to a diverse team of operators who manage various operations across a spectrum of internal and external stakeholders

· Familiar with both Aviation Security and Aviation Safety legislation and best practises

· Ability to create workable plans for the wider team to deliver on

· Able to deliver a 5-star service to both internal and external stakeholders

· Willingness to be flexible to meet the demands of both the operation and our clients

· Able to support and guide a team during times of high stress situations whilst dealing with multiple operational situations

· Confident communicator able to tailor the message tone and method depending on the audience

· Hold (or has held) an Aviation Security Managers (ASM) Certificate

Desirable:

· Level 3 Award in Education and Training

· Recognition of firearms and explosives (RFX)
