Hyde is looking to recruit a Head of Financial Transactions to lead a critical finance function responsible for the accurate, timely and well-controlled delivery of income, expenditure and accounts payable services. This is a senior leadership role within Finance, offering the opportunity to shape a high-volume transactional environment, strengthen financial control and improve the quality of service provided to the wider business.
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Director, you will lead the Financial Transactions function and ensure that transactional finance activity is efficient, compliant and responsive. You will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity across Hyde by ensuring strong controls, accurate reconciliations, reliable management information and clear governance are embedded across the function.
This role is well suited to an experienced finance leader who can combine technical knowledge of transactional finance with strong people leadership, sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset. You will be confident operating in a complex organisation, able to manage competing priorities and skilled at using insight, systems and process improvements to improve accuracy, efficiency, controls and stakeholder confidence.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the Financial Transactions function across income, expenditure and accounts payable, ensuring services are accurate, timely and well controlled.
- Set clear standards for performance, governance and service delivery, using reliable reporting and management information to support effective decision-making.
- Strengthen financial controls, reconciliations and compliance across transactional finance activity, ensuring risks are identified, managed and escalated appropriately.
- Work closely with Finance colleagues and wider business stakeholders to resolve issues, improve processes and maintain confidence in financial data and service quality.
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
- Qualified accountant status, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with significant experience leading transactional finance services, ideally across income, expenditure, accounts payable or similar high-volume finance operations.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, governance, compliance and audit requirements.
- Proven ability to lead teams, set clear expectations, improve performance and build capability in a finance environment.
- Experience using systems, data and process improvement to strengthen efficiency, accuracy and service quality.
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust, provide assurance and influence effectively across Finance and the wider business.
