Head of HSEQ

Head of SHEQ – Manufacturing – Lincolnshire – £85,000 - £120,000 + Benefits Package  

Principal People are delighted to be working exclusively with a national manufacturing and engineering organisation to recruit a Head of SHEQ.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SHEQ leader to join a growing business and take strategic ownership of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance across the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and operating as a key member of the senior management team, the successful candidate will provide strategic SHEQ leadership across the business, supporting sustainable growth while ensuring robust legal compliance, risk management and continual improvement.

This is a highly influential role, working closely with the management team, Board, regulators and external stakeholders across a diverse risk environment.

The key duties include:

• Developing and delivering the SHEQ strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operations and future growth.
• Providing visible and strategic SHEQ leadership across the business, embedding a proactive culture and strong SHEQ behaviours.
• Acting as the senior internal and external SHEQ point of contact, managing relationships with regulators.
• Leading and continually improving the company's integrated management system, aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Establishing and monitoring SHEQ KPIs and dashboards, including LTIFR, permit non-conformances, SHEQ incidents and audit performance.
• Providing strategic SHEQ advice, assurance and reporting to the senior management team and Board.

We would love to see CVs from people who have:

• Extensive senior SHEQ leadership and strategy experience within a complex operational environment.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience across Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality management and UK legislation.
• Experience developing and managing integrated management systems aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Excellent communication, organisational, leadership and commercial stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to operate at senior management and Board level.
