We’re working exclusively with a great further education client in Greater London who are recruiting for an experienced Head of IT to lead a busy technical support function and take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of IT services across multiple sites.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll manage the Tech Support team (5), oversee networks and infrastructure, lead IT projects, manage suppliers and make sure systems are secure, reliable and fit for purpose.

You’ll also have responsibility for IT strategy, budgets, disaster recovery, data security and service performance, working closely with senior leaders to plan future improvements.

You’ll need proven experience managing an IT service and leading a technical team, backed by a strong understanding of areas such as:

  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Intune
  • Networking, firewalls and infrastructure
  • Cloud and hybrid environments
  • Virtualisation
  • PowerShell and automation
  • Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity

You’ll be comfortable managing projects, budgets and competing priorities, while still being approachable and focused on providing a good service to staff and students.

The salary is £45,800 to £51,600, with 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and a 20% pension.  My client can also offer hybrid working with 1-2 days WFH each week, based on business needs.

Unfortunately my client is unable to provide sponsorship.
