Clarence Recruitment is delighted to be working alongside a successful and ambitious secondary school in Leicestershire to recruit an exceptional Head of Mathematics.
This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for an experienced Mathematics teacher seeking the next step in their career or an established Head of Department looking for a fresh challenge. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team of professionals, driving high standards of teaching and learning while ensuring students achieve outstanding outcomes across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
As Head of Mathematics, you will:
- Provide strong and effective leadership for the Mathematics department, promoting a culture of excellence and high achievement.
- Lead the planning, development, and delivery of an ambitious and engaging Mathematics curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment and close achievement gaps.
- Support, coach, and develop members of the department through mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across all key stages.
- Use data effectively to inform departmental priorities and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive learning environment where students are challenged, motivated, and supported to achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and play a key role within the wider leadership team.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have a proven track record of successful Mathematics teaching at secondary level.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- -Possess excellent subject knowledge across Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally Key Stage 5.
- Be passionate about raising standards and improving student outcomes.
- Have experience of curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development.
- Be committed to fostering an inclusive and aspirational learning environment.
- Possess excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
