This is a newly created position within a business experiencing significant organic growth alongside an ongoing acquisition strategy. The Group currently operates across multiple UK locations as well as the US, with further growth expected.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating strategically while remaining close to the detail and day-to-day delivery of HR.
The Role Reporting directly to the Group CFO and working closely with the Group CEO and senior leadership team, you will develop and implement a proactive Group-wide people strategy that supports growth, employee engagement, development and performance.
You will be responsible for creating consistency across the Group while ensuring individual businesses retain the flexibility to operate effectively.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing the Group HR strategy alongside the Group CEO.
- Creating and maintaining a positive and engaging employee culture.
- Developing strategies to improve employee retention, engagement and development.
- Managing compensation, benefits and HR policies across the Group.
- Establishing salary banding and clear career pathways.
- Developing skills matrices and supporting managers with training and development.
- Leading recruitment and onboarding processes in partnership with hiring managers.
- Managing employee relations and disciplinary processes, working alongside external advisors where required.
- Supporting payroll processes, including gathering hours and holiday information.
- Producing monthly HR metrics, reports and action plans for the Group Board.
- Managing HR budgets and benefits programmes.
- Ensuring accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Driving consistency and alignment of Group policies and processes.
- Developing manager capability and accountability.
- Supporting performance management, KPIs and employee evaluations.
- Organising employee engagement and team-building initiatives.
- Presenting the Group people strategy and priorities to employees and managers.
- Supporting HR activity across multiple UK locations and working closely with the local HR representative in the US.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in an HR management or senior HR role.
- CIPD Level 7, or equivalent senior HR management experience.
- Experience developing and implementing HR strategy.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience working across multiple sites or businesses.
- Strong employee relations and conflict resolution experience.
- Experience with HR systems and HR processes.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Experience managing recruitment, performance, reward and employee development.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with senior leadership.
- Willingness to travel to other Group locations as required.
