Excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of People, HR Manager or People & Culture leader to join a successful and growing UK service organisation. Great salary, car allowance, bonus and benefit. Central London / Hybrid - 3 days per week.
This is a highly operational, multi-site business employing a large, geographically dispersed workforce, with employees delivering essential services directly at customer sites throughout the UK.
We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the dynamics of a field-based service organisation – where engineers, technicians, operatives or service professionals are out on the road delivering services to commercial customers.
Relevant backgrounds could include facilities management, environmental services, waste management, hygiene and washroom services, security, utilities, technical field services, maintenance or similar service organisations.
The Role
Working closely with the UK leadership team, you will lead and develop the People & Culture strategy while ensuring HR remains practical, commercially focused and closely connected to operations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering the UK People & Culture strategy.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to senior leadership and operational managers.
- Supporting a large, geographically dispersed field-based workforce.
- Developing leadership capability, talent and succession planning.
- Driving employee engagement, culture and retention.
- Supporting organisational change and business transformation.
- Leading complex employee relations matters.
- Improving recruitment and workforce planning.
- Using people data and KPIs to improve performance and decision-making.
- Ensuring HR policies and processes remain effective, consistent and commercially focused.
About You:
You will be an experienced HR / People professional combining strategic capability with a hands-on, operational approach.
You may currently be a Head of People, Head of HR, Senior HR Manager, People & Culture Manager or senior HR Business Partner ready for your next step.
Experience within a service-led organisation with a mobile or field-based workforce is particularly important, ideally gained within environmental services, facilities management, waste, hygiene, security, utilities, maintenance or a similar environment.
You should bring strong generalist HR experience, excellent employee relations knowledge and the credibility to work effectively with senior leadership, operational managers and front-line employees.
Most importantly, you will enjoy being close to the operational business, understanding what is happening on the ground and translating this into an effective people strategy.
Hybrid working – approximately 3 days per week in Central London, with occasional UK travel.
