Head of Tax & Treasury
SF Partners
Head of Tax & Treasury
Warwickshire | Hybrid working
Up to £90,000
SF Partners is recruiting a Head of Tax & Treasury for an established international business with operations across multiple jurisdictions.
This is a newly created senior finance role with a strong tax focus, responsible for developing and strengthening the Group's approach to tax governance, international tax, transfer pricing and compliance, alongside oversight of the treasury function.
The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced tax professional who has operated within a complex international organisation and is comfortable taking ownership of the Group tax agenda. You do not need to be a treasury specialist, but you will need sufficient understanding of treasury to provide effective oversight and leadership in this area.
The role
Reporting into senior Group Finance leadership, you will take responsibility for the Group's tax strategy, governance and risk framework across its international operations.
A key priority will be transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements, ensuring appropriate policies, documentation and controls are in place across the Group.
Responsibilities will include:
Owning and developing the Group tax strategy, governance framework and tax risk management processes
Taking responsibility for transfer pricing policies, documentation and intercompany arrangements across multiple jurisdictions
Coordinating corporation tax compliance and reporting across the Group, working with local finance teams and external advisers
Providing oversight of tax provisions, current and deferred tax and year-end tax reporting
Managing international tax matters including withholding taxes, cross-border transactions and cash repatriation
Monitoring international tax developments and assessing their impact on the Group
Providing commercially focused tax advice around business decisions, international expansion and changes to Group structures
Supporting acquisitions and other corporate activity from a tax perspective, including due diligence, structuring and post-completion integration
Managing relationships with external tax advisers and relevant tax authorities
Strengthening tax processes, controls, reporting and accountability across the organisation
Providing leadership and oversight of the treasury function, working closely with the existing treasury team
Overseeing areas including cash and liquidity, banking, FX, intercompany funding and financial risk
Providing clear tax and treasury reporting to senior leadership
Driving continuous improvement across tax and treasury systems, processes and controls
The person
This role would suit a senior tax professional looking for a broad in-house leadership position within an international organisation.
You are likely to have:
ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification
Strong UK corporate tax knowledge combined with international tax exposure
Strong transfer pricing experience, including exposure to policies, documentation and intercompany arrangements
Experience working within a multinational or multi-entity environment
Experience coordinating tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Good knowledge of tax accounting and reporting
Exposure to cross-border tax matters including withholding tax and intercompany transactions
Experience working with and managing external tax advisers
The commercial judgement to translate complex tax matters into practical recommendations
Confidence working with senior finance and operational stakeholders
Some exposure to treasury, cash management, FX, banking or intercompany funding would be advantageous
M&A, international expansion or post-acquisition integration experience would also be beneficial
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a broad international tax agenda while developing the tax and treasury framework of a growing organisation.
The position offers significant autonomy and visibility, with the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders and establish scalable processes across an international Group.
