Salary: £52,500–£59,500 (dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced education leader with a passion for driving outstanding teaching, learning and assessment?
We are working in partnership with a well-established and ambitious Further Education provider seeking an exceptional Head of Teaching, Learning & Assessment to lead quality improvement and embed a culture of excellence across multiple campuses.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Quality, you will lead the strategic development of teaching, learning and assessment across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders and curriculum teams, you'll use performance data, quality assurance processes and evidence-based practice to drive continuous improvement.
You'll lead high-impact CPD programmes, coach and mentor colleagues, oversee quality assurance activity including lesson observations and learning walks, and ensure teaching standards continue to improve across all curriculum areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Teaching, Learning & Assessment strategy across the organisation.
- Driving quality improvement through observations, learning walks and performance reviews.
- Designing and delivering engaging CPD, coaching and mentoring programmes.
- Using performance data to identify priorities and implement targeted improvement plans.
- Supporting curriculum leaders to raise achievement, attendance, retention and progression.
- Preparing curriculum teams for Ofsted, awarding body and external quality reviews.
- Championing innovative teaching approaches, including digital learning.
- Leading and developing a team of Teaching & Learning specialists.
About You
We're looking for an experienced education leader who can inspire others and deliver measurable improvements in teaching quality.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant leadership experience within Further Education.
- A successful teaching background with a recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of teaching, learning, assessment and quality improvement.
- Experience of leading lesson observations, coaching and staff development.
- A track record of improving learner outcomes through effective quality processes.
- Experience preparing teams for Ofsted and external quality assurance.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence, motivate and lead change across diverse curriculum areas.
