Health and Safety Advisor

Our client, a prominent consultancy in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across highway projects.

• Conducting annual on-site health and safety reviews of the highways contractor and preparing detailed reports with recommended improvements
• Providing ongoing health and safety advice, including emergency support when required
• Updating the organisation on new legislation and advising on necessary actions to remain compliant
• Reviewing and updating the health and safety policy annually to ensure it remains accurate and compliant with current regulations
• Offering additional expertise as needed, such as conducting investigations and deeper reviews

• Experience in health and safety within the highways sector
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
• Proven ability to conduct thorough audits and produce actionable reports
• Excellent advisory skills, with the capability to provide both routine and emergency support
• Skilled in reviewing and updating health and safety policies
• Ability to undertake additional tasks such as investigations and detailed reviews
• Superb communication skills and attention to detail
• Relevant health and safety qualifications or certifications
