currently working with a well-established and growing main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Health & Safety Advisor to support a portfolio of projects across London and Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects and a genuine commitment to maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

Ideally, you'll be based in West London or the surrounding area, allowing you to travel easily between sites across the region.

The Role

As the Construction Health & Safety Advisor, you'll work closely with project and site management teams, providing practical health and safety support across multiple live construction projects. You'll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring legal compliance and driving continuous improvement throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular site inspections and health & safety audits across multiple projects.
  • Provide practical advice and support to site teams and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with current health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations and company procedures.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS) and construction phase documentation.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, site briefings and health & safety training.
  • Build strong working relationships with project managers, site managers and subcontractors.
  • Assist with client audits and external inspections.
  • Produce inspection reports and monitor the completion of corrective actions.
  • Support the ongoing development of the company's health & safety culture.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Construction Health & Safety Advisor.
  • Previous experience working for a main contractor is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction health & safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (Construction Certificate would be advantageous).
  • IOSH membership or working towards professional membership is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, practical approach to health & safety.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between projects in London and Oxford.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.
