As a Health & Safety Adviser, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. Join our dynamic team and make a difference! The Health & Safety Adviser will work within the project’s Health & Safety Team supporting the various project teams to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities and achieve the project’s health and safety obligations, strategies and targets. The role will report directly to the Health & Safety Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide advice and guidance to construction managers on actions required to obtain or develop SSoW for planned works.
- Support construction managers with the development and maintenance of works plans, e.g. Logistics Plans, Traffic Management Plans, etc
- Undertake regular health and safety compliance inspections and audits, reporting on findings and following up any actions arising with the appropriate construction managers and supervisors.
- Attend and support health and safety meetings arranged and chaired by both the H&S Manager and the construction team.
- Assist with the identification, development and delivery of appropriate health and safety briefings (Toolbox Talks, etc).
- Build, develop and nurture business relationships with internal and external customers vital to the success of the project.
Essential Criteria
- Right to work in the UK
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Construction Safety and Health.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience in a similar role.
In addition to the above
- CSCS skills card appropriate for the role.
- Experience of working within a construction team.
- Excellent knowledge of UK health & safety legislation relevant to the construction industry.
- Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite, e.g Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams.
- Good numeracy skills and the ability to make mathematical calculations.
- Good communication, listening and negotiation skills.
Desirable Criteria
- TechIoSH or higher membership.
- CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
