An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Lead to join the delivery team on a major data centre construction project in Norway.

Working alongside project leadership, you will drive a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with local legislation and client requirements, and support the successful delivery of a complex, fast-paced project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the project.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific EHS plans and procedures.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and visible leadership.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian HSE legislation, company standards, and client requirements.
  • Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and prepare regular reports for project and senior management.
  • Collaborate with construction, subcontractors, and client representatives to achieve project safety objectives.
  • Support environmental initiatives including waste management, sustainability, and pollution prevention.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional EHS qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma/Certificate, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a senior EHS role on large-scale construction or industrial projects.
  • Data centre, pharmaceutical, mission-critical, or major MEP project experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence teams and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional Scandinavian language skills are advantageous but not required.
