Role Introduction and Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to join a leading provider of no-dig engineering, pipeline investigation and repair solutions within the utilities sector. Based in Lisburn, this role will involve both office, site and working from home. With periodic travel to visit sites in Scotland, IOM and Southern Ireland, supporting a wide range of utility infrastructure projects with a flexible approach to travel, enabling you to organise site visits and travel commitments around your work schedule.
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of the company's well-established Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, industry standards and best practices across multiple project sites. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Directors, you will champion a proactive safety culture, drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the safe delivery of projects across the business.

Key Responsibilities as Health & Safety Manager
- Lead and manage all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance across multiple operational sites.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and safety concerns, producing timely reports and corrective action plans.
- Work closely with senior management to implement health and safety improvements across all project locations.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as Health & Safety Manager
- Minimum of 5-10 years' Health, Safety and Environmental experience within the utilities, civil engineering, pipeline, construction or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
- Demonstrated experience liaising with regulatory bodies, auditors, clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical procedures and safety regulations.
- Experience supporting project delivery teams and developing site-specific safety documentation.
- Full driving licence and ability to travel regularly across Scotland and Southern Ireland. This position offers a flexible approach to travel, enabling you to organise site visits and travel commitments around your work schedule.
Qualifications
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate (additional training and development can be provided).
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience contributing to major infrastructure, utility or construction projects.
- Ability to make informed decisions and respond effectively in challenging operational environments.
