About the Company

Our client is a leading specialist contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex civil engineering, groundworks and reinforced concrete frame packages across Europe. With an expanding portfolio of hyperscale data centre developments, they continue to secure major projects for some of the world's largest technology clients.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join the team on a flagship data centre development in Finland.

About the Opportunity

This opportunity would suit an experienced Health and Safety Manager with a proven track record working on major construction projects, particularly within the data centre, civil engineering, infrastructure or reinforced concrete sectors.

Working as part of the senior site management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the construction programme while promoting a proactive safety culture across the project.

Roles and responsibilities include:

• Implementing and maintaining the company's health and safety management systems
• Conducting regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
• Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, permits and construction documentation
• Providing health and safety support and guidance to site management teams and subcontractors
• Leading toolbox talks, safety briefings and behavioural safety initiatives
• Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project and client requirements
• Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the project
• Ensuring the project remains compliant with all relevant health and safety legislation and client requirements

About the Requirements

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential
• Previous experience as a Health and Safety Manager within civil engineering, groundworks or reinforced concrete frame construction
• Experience working on large commercial, industrial, infrastructure or data centre projects
• Data centre experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of construction health and safety management systems and industry best practice
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of a project team
• Willingness to work in Finland for the duration of the project
