We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven Health and Safety professional to join this team as the Health & Safety Manager. This role will require some travel to other sites and support the future growth of the business into new regions.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of health and safety and you will provide professional health and safety advice and support across the Group on high risk activities, as well as developing policies, assessing risk and implementing controls to deliver the expected standards in health and safety.
The role
- You will need a hands-on approach and experience within a dynamic, high risk, multi-site environment
- Proactively identify health and safety risks and performance improvement opportunities; proposing solutions and supporting implementation;
- Update and develop policies and procedures, ensuring the policies are relevant, understood and meet with health and safety legislation requirements;
- Develop and deliver communication briefs promoting a positive health and safety culture across the business;
- Work with site managers and operational managers to ensure activities are carried out in a zero-harm manner
- Produce management information and reports, completing analysis of issues and making suitable recommendations for resolution considering short and long-term impacts;
- Lead incident investigations, write reports, agree corrective or improvement action and follow up closure to a high professional standard;
- Work with the Compliance Manager in managing the business ISO certified systems
- Keep up to date with changes to developments in health and safety legislation and other requirements that affect the business and wider industry;
What we are looking for
- Proven experience of site based/Manufacturing industry health and safety would be a distinct advantage;
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation;
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent;
- Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health;
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with colleagues and customers at all levels;
- Excellent organisation and time management;
- Excellent communication skills;
- A full UK driving licence.
- We are looking for a manager who will roll their sleeves up and get on site working with site managers to come up with health and safety solutions and as such should be an excellent communicator with strong commercial awareness

In return
Working Monday - Friday days this role attracts a package of £45,000 - £50,000pa plus a range of benefits including car allowance or company car. This is an exciting and challenging role within an innovative and dynamic organisation and you will gain continual professional support and development
