The Role

Reporting to the EHS Lead, the EHS Manager will play a key role in ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with the company's Safety Management System, statutory legislation and industry best practice.  You will have a significant presence on site, working closely with project and senior management, subcontractors and site teams to proactively manage risk and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Implement and maintain project Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
  • Oversee and support the development of method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA) and permit-to-work systems.
  • Monitor compliance with the Project Execution Plan and associated safety standards.
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the project and wider business.
  • Manage COSHH assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.

  • Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections and documentation.
  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate project EHS risks.
  • Monitor and ensure subcontractor compliance with project EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate EHS inductions and training programmes for site personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE resources are available and maintained.
  • Lead or assist with incident and accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and communication to the project management team.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working on large scale construction projects, ideally within a complex or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Experience with Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans, RAMS, risk assessments, permits and safe systems of work.
  • Experience managing subcontractor EHS compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of incident investigation, audits, inspections and corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with senior management and project teams.

Important Candidate Requirements:

  • Irish construction experience is essential.
  • Candidates must currently be based in Ireland and have relevant experience working within the Irish construction sector.
  • The client is specifically looking for candidates with EU/Ireland construction experience and will not consider candidates whose experience is solely within the UAE, Middle East or other non-EU markets.
  • Experience from industries outside of construction will not be suitable for this position.

The Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded European data centre specialist at a time of significant growth. You will be joining a major Dublin project and working within an experienced EHS and project management team, with the opportunity to take genuine ownership of project level Health & Safety across a technically demanding data centre environment.
