About the Role
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of high-profile construction and civil engineering projects in the Midlands.
Working closely with site management teams, you'll be responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and supporting the successful delivery of projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day health & safety support across multiple construction sites.
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with company procedures and UK legislation.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist with risk assessments, method statements (RAMS) and construction phase plans.
- Support site teams in maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Promote a positive behavioural safety culture across all levels of the project team.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project-specific requirements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and external stakeholders on health & safety matters.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction or civil engineering.
- Good understanding of current UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with site teams and senior management.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH or above) is desirable.
- Experience on major infrastructure, industrial or commercial construction projects would be advantageous.
